My Bloody Valentine played a ’secret’ show on Thursday in L.A. at the El Rey theatre. Kendra and I were able to get tickets to the sold out show. They handed out earplugs at the door and I brought some with us. I didn’t put them in because the band didn’t seem that loud when they started, also I really wanted to get the full experience. Kendra wore hers, which I really regretted not doing once the show ended. They ended with ‘You made me realize’ which includes a 10 minute feedback assault. It shook your insides and started making your throat close up. It happened to Kendra and I heard people after the show saying their throats were closing up during the feedback assault as well.

It was a great show and my ears finally stopped ringing sometime Saturday afternoon. Glad we didn’t have to stand in a hot shadeless desert at Coachella to see MBV. Instead it was a nice air conditioned, intimate venue.
