New Veltpunch video from their upcoming album “Paint Your Life Grey”. Comes out September 3rd. Great song and the video compliments it well. I’ll be seeing them for their release tour in November.

No new tale to tell since I’ve been working like a mule and will continue to do so until the project is over, sometime in October or November. Hard to get into any shenanigans when you work that much. Actually, about three weeks ago went out to a bbq at Mario and Jaime’s, drank beer all day and then went out to a bar where the bartender flowed free drinks all night long. This was a Sunday. Monday morning I got up, showered and actually tried to go to work but made it as far as putting one pant leg on before calling in. Haven’t drank since, shameful. As far as the video game front goes, Soul Calibur IV is awesome. Play it during lunch and dinner at work with my friends there and then play it for a bit when I get home. Angol Fear is the shit. But creating your own fighter is where it’s at. Ok, see everyone in a couple months.

Ever wish you could be locked inside of your favorite watering hole after the place has closed up? Me too, and it finally happened to Mario and I. We’ve earned the privilege of hanging out after hours at our drinking place of choice. The staff and the owner left, but the owner told us we could stay as long as we like, but to just make sure to lock up when we were done. So we manned the taps and had ourselves a grand old time. We didn’t even have to use pint glasses, we were drinking straight from our pitchers. Actually, we were drinking straight from the pitchers before we knew we were going to be allowed to stay, we’re just classy that way. Another item I can cross off my to do list.

Just saw Kataude mashin garu and I’m adding it to my collection. The main character is Ami, and her brother is bullied to death by a ninja yakuza’s son. She seeks revenge and loses an arm along the way, but gains a machine gun arm. The opening scene had one special effect in it that was exceptionally weak, so I was worried the whole movie would be that way. Turns out the rest was awesome. Gallons of blood, ninjas, drill bra, tempura arm, an unusual conditioner, this movie has it all. If you like over the top, super gory, bloodbath action, check this one out.

Jaime got married this past weekend and it was awesome. Waiting for pics to come in since I forgot my camera. I was honored to be Jaime’s best man, fuck yeah! He gave the groomsmen some sweet blades, all customized on the blade. I believe mine was the most appropriate, finally the world has a real strawberry shortblade. Live it!

This is the second wedding this year, Trey and Jess were the first wedding of the year and that was an awesome time too.

Two awesome weddings in one year and there is still one more coming in November, the mother of all weddings. Who is it? You’ll find out soon. In the meantime, congratulations to Trey and Jess and to Jaime and Carrie, and behold: Strawberry Shortblade!

The fact that I can post this after 4 pints of beer and supposedly 5 or 6 Kettle tonics, is ridiculous! The Palms in Carpinteria California, paw-shaw… that bitch bartender was watering after the second round, he was a guy, so I’m not being a sexist bastard, just immature. I sent a female friend of mine to have him man up and put in the proper amount of booze and he did, no questions asked. If I had done it, some ugly drunk guy walking up saying my drink was watered down, he would have told me to kick rocks. That fuck face! So there’s a reason I left this stupid town. This wasn’t one of them, but it’s now on my list. Fuck you Palms! You suck! Especially your live act, which Beer Face Isaac got footage of, and I’ll post the link once it’s ready.

On April 23rd, Jane’s Addiction is reuniting with all four original members for the first time since their break up in
the early 90’s. They’ll be playing at the U.S. NME awards in Los Angeles. Not an open show, invite only apparently. Fucked up. NME will be streaming the show so we’ll get to see it one way or another. Original lineup back together again? Must be a cold day in Satan’s neck of the woods.

Veltpunch has a new single, Crawl, coming out and the video for it is ready for the viewing. The CD single comes with a bonus DVD with the video for Crawl, as well as about 6 live songs from their performance at the club Heaven’s Door in Tokyo. The best part is that’s the show I went to when I was in Tokyo last fall. Sugoi!

Have a look at the video, it’s an awesome story of sweet betrayal. The fucked up masks they use in the video are what they wore at the Heaven’s Door show, except for they had full body costumes, not just the heads. Check it.
